Desktop application for Linux: local pane on the left, remote on the right, as in WinSCP. Upload files, compare the two sides folder by folder and fix permissions on whole directory trees without typing a command. Built for people who administer sites and servers and repeat the same operations every day.
The two features that save time
Recursive local/remote comparison
It scans both sides and shows only the differences: new files, changed files, files newer on one side or the other. From there you tick the ones to upload, instead of dragging whole folders and hoping.
Recursive permissions, with sudo too
Changes permissions of a whole directory tree in one operation (755 for folders, 644 for files, or 777 where genuinely needed), with sudo support when the owner is another user. It is the operation a website needs after every upload.
What it does
Two panes side by side
Local on the left, remote on the right, with navigation, sorting and a configurable starting path. On reopening it resumes from the folders you were in.
Direct upload
Upload of files and folders over SFTP, creating missing directories on the server automatically.
Saved sessions
Host, user and starting folders are saved as a profile. Passwords are not kept in a configuration file: they go into the system keyring.
Recursive permissions
Permissions applied to whole trees, distinguishing folders from files, with sudo when needed.
Two languages
Interface in Italian and English, switchable from the menu.
Use with care
The program changes permissions and overwrites files on real servers, with the credentials you give it: a recursive operation on the wrong folder does real damage. Operations run under the responsibility of whoever starts them — check the path before confirming.

An interrupted download produces a file that looks fine and does not start. Compare this checksum with the one of the file you downloaded: they must match character by character. It also tells you the file is exactly the one published here.
To compute it on the downloaded file: sha256sum PermiSSH-1.34.3-x86_64.AppImage

The executable is not signed: on first launch Windows shows "Windows protected your PC". Choose "More info", then "Run anyway". The checksum above is there precisely to check the file is the right one.
