Data collected

Visit statistics: for every page viewed we record the page, the referrer, the browser and a non-reversible fingerprint computed from IP address and browser. The IP address is never stored in readable form, but the fingerprint remains data in pseudonymous form (non-reversible code): it cannot be traced back to you, yet two visits from the same computer share the same fingerprint. Retention: 12 months, then automatic deletion.

Contact form: if you write through the form, we keep your name, e-mail and message in order to reply. These data are not shared with third parties nor used for other purposes. Retention: 24 months.

Software installed on your computer

BaroSoft programs work offline. Some, such as SpectraCtrl and PermiSSH, use two online services: the update check, a plain read that sends no data, and the sending of usage statistics. These statistics are in pseudonymous form, not anonymous: they contain a random code generated on your computer at first start, which stays the same for every transmission. Each message contains that code, the event type (first start or later start), the program version and edition, the operating system and its approximate version, the number of starts of that installation and the version of the accepted terms of use; our server adds a non-reversible fingerprint of the IP address and the date. Legal basis: the controller's legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the software (Art. 6.1.f GDPR). You can switch the sending off at any time from the program's ? → Privacy and updates menu. Retention: 12 months. The same applies to the download log: for each download we keep the program, version, platform and a non-reversible fingerprint of the IP address, for 12 months.

Cookies

This site uses only two cookies, both technical and first-party: barosoft_lang, which remembers the chosen language (1 year), and PHPSESSID, the session cookie that keeps the administrator signed in to the panel (deleted when the browser closes). There are no profiling cookies and no third-party statistics services, so no consent is required. No page loads resources from external servers.

Purchases

Purchases of BaroSoft software take place on shop.ilbarone.net, which has its own independent privacy policy for order, billing and payment data.

Your rights

You may at any time request access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 15-22 GDPR), by writing to privacy@ilbarone.net. We reply within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it).
